While our national basketball team failed to get the gold in the recent Guangzhou Asian Games, our football team are making headlines this past weeks because of their good standing in the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup held in Vietnam. This group of kicker first crushed the host country Vietnam, 2-0. Then, they played against Singapore and Myanmar where they tied at 1-1 and 0-0 respectively, thanks to Neil Etheridge's defense. The team now enters the semi-finals where they will face Indonesia on next Thursday. This is a good omen for our football fans out here that soccer draws more attention than basketball, which is a tall man's game. I hope that our government will put more support on a sport which we have a chance of winning like soccer. By the way, nice work Pinoy Kickers.
